What Is a Prop Firm Payout & How Do You Get One?
A prop firm payout is money you withdraw from a funded trading account — your share of the profits you made trading the firm's capital instead of your own. It's how a skilled futures trader can earn real income without risking a huge personal bankroll. The screenshots on our Results page are exactly this.
What is a prop firm?
A proprietary trading ("prop") firm gives skilled traders access to the firm's capital. You prove you can trade within their rules, they fund you, and you split the profits. For futures, this has exploded — you can get access to a $50k–$150k+ account for a small evaluation fee instead of putting up that money yourself.
The evaluation (challenge)
To get funded you first pass an evaluation: hit a profit target while respecting rules like a maximum drawdown and daily loss limit. Evaluations usually cost somewhere around $50–$150 and can be reset or retaken. This is the firm's way of filtering for traders who are consistent and disciplined — not gamblers.
Getting a funded account
Pass the eval and you're moved to a funded account trading the firm's capital. You keep following the risk rules. Now the profits you make are real — and you can request a payout.
Profit splits & payouts
On a funded account you keep the majority of the profit — commonly around an 80–90% split in the trader's favor, depending on the firm. When you've built profit above any threshold, you request a withdrawal and the firm pays you. That withdrawal is your payout — like the $2,984, $4,400, $10,328 and larger withdrawals our members have posted.
The payout isn't the goal — consistency is. Payouts are just what consistency looks like on a bank statement.
Popular futures prop firms

How to actually pass (and keep) a funded account
- Trade small. Micros (MES/MNQ) keep you inside the drawdown while you build the cushion.
- Respect the daily loss limit. Blowing the drawdown is the #1 reason people fail. Stop when you hit your line.
- Have a repeatable setup. Consistency passes evals; hero trades fail them.
- Don't rush the payout. Follow the minimum trading-day and consistency rules before withdrawing.
